MORNING KICK START

Many people get confused what to drink or eat first thing in the morning. Yes I know that many of you out there need your coffee fix, but first kick start your metabolism with a glass of warm water.

  • A glass of warm water
  • Half a lemon squeezed
  • Teaspoon of honey

Try having this first thing in the morning before your coffee.

BALANCED LIFESTYLE

Working out shouldn't consume your life, it should be a part of your life. I love working out, staying fit and healthy, but what I also love is dolling up and going out with my man and friends.

FIND YOUR BALANCE, STAY FIT, HAPPY AND ENJOY LIFE

Being a mum of 3 beautiful girls, I try to set an example and teach them that being healthy is not challenging or boring.

DATE NIGHTS ARE FUN AND KEEP THINGS EXCITING BETWEEN MY HUSBAND AND I

LIVING IN DUBAI DEFINITELY HAS ITS ADVANTAGES, IT HAS SO MANY BEAUTIFUL HOTELS. SO SNEAKING IN A LUNCH DATE WITH MY MAN IS ALWAYS FUN

WEEKEND IS FAMILY TIME AND I NEVER COMPROMISE ON THAT

GET OUT AND EXPLORE WHAT IS AROUND YOUR AREA AND MAKE IT FUN FOR THE FAMILY

CHEER UP

Life is way to short to be miserable about the small things in life. We should all be grateful every morning for the opportunities we have and then get on with our day.
I've put a list of things that help me stay positive if I am ever down. I hope they help.

  1. Go for a walk or have a quick workout.
  2. Have some chocolate and don't feel guilty for eating it. Just work it off the next day and eat healthy the rest of the day
  3. Retail therapy. This doesn't mean you have to go crazy with the credit card. Sometimes just buying a small item can put a smile on my face.
  4. Talk to someone that makes you laugh / call a friend that isn't always negative
  5. Buy some flowers
  6. Avoid any negative social media that puts you down
  7. Date night with your man or with friends. I love getting dressed up and going out with my man.
  8. Get your hair done / spa day
  9. Do some home baking
  10. Oh!!! Did I mention retail therapy

KILLER ABS

How many of you have picked up a magazine and it promises you abs in 10 minutes or abs in 3 minutes etc. The truth is there is no secret formula or exercise to getting strong ripped abs. The fact is, we all have abs, just many of us can't see them because of the layer or layers of fat on top of them.
Get rid of the fat and the abs will show. In saying this, it doesn't mean you shouldn't workout your mid section. A total body workout is the key to an overall healthy and fit body.

Here are a few of my favourite exercises that will help sculpt your midsection.

Doing 3 to 4 sets of 20  3 X a week on each is a great start for sculpting that mid section

1- PLANKS

2 - SIT-UPS

3 - CRUNCH WITH A TWIST

4 - LEG RAISERS

5 - PLANK WITH CROSS BODY KNEE DRIVE

CROSSFIT

CROSSFIT THE NEW CRAZE!!!!!

Don't expect anything different from a circuit class. Crossfit is just a new term to describe your old fashioned circuit class. It is a great fat-burner that involves varied functional movements such as pulling, pushing, squatting, running and lifting, all executed at very high intensity.

The good thing about a circuit / cross fit class is that it targets all levels, from beginners to advance. The workouts will help improve your
  • strength,
  • endurance,
  • stamina,
  • power,
  • speed,
  • flexibility and
  • coordination

If you can't get to a gym than try doing one of my circuit programs that I have posted on this blog. You can increase the intensity and strength by incorporating weights, steps, bands, increasing your speed.

Try to get 45mins of a mixed workout, 4 to 5 times a week to achieve the optimal level of a Healthy and Balanced Lifestyle.
